But there are only so many hours you can commit to learning and development as a business owner, so it pays to choose your courses wisely.

Here's a list of questions I ask myself before buying any online program:

• Did you take action on the marketing material? If so, you’re more likely to take action on the course content
• Is the price point affordable for you? Are you happily surprised that it’s less than what you were expecting?
• Do you have time to action it right now? Or will it sit on your virtual shelf and be forgotten, giving no action and therefore no results
• If you didn’t make a cent from the program, would it send you broke to buy it?
• Is there a money-back guarantee that encourages you to take action?
• Does the marketing material clearly show you a way you can get a return on your investment?
• If not, does it show you a way to help you save money, time, or effort in the future? What makes it worth spending the money on?
• Is there proof that others have achieved the results you are looking for after taking the course?
• If the timing is not right, can you afford to take it later?
• Have you been looking for a course on this topic?

These are the questions that will help you step back emotionally from your purchase and decide if it’s the right buy for you, at the right time.
